The qualification
OxfordAQA International AS and A-level Economics (9640)
Reflecting recent developments in international economics, this International AS/A-level specification places an emphasis on behavioural economics, the importance of financial markets, inequality within and between countries, and environmental issues. — OxfordAQA, official syllabus page
AS content covers the operation of markets, market failure and the role of government, plus the national economy in a global environment; A2 adds business behaviour and the distribution of income, and economic development and the global environment, with a quantitative skills strand running throughout. AS content is 50% of the A-level content but contributes 40% of the final marks (A2 the remaining 60%); AS and A2 can be taken across two years or together at the end. First teaching September 2020; first AS exams May/June 2021; first A-level exams May/June 2022.
