The qualification
OxfordAQA International GCSE Sociology (9292)
OxfordAQA's International GCSE and A-level Sociology qualifications, available for first teaching from September 2026, offer students a powerful lens for understanding the world around them — from families and education to inequality and globalisation. — OxfordAQA, official syllabus page
Paper 1 covers families, education and research methods; Paper 2 covers differences and inequalities, socialisation and social control, and research methods, with the two papers equally weighted and no coursework. Specifications change between examination series. Always confirm the current syllabus and assessment structure on the OxfordAQA syllabus page for your examination year.

Source: official OxfordAQA specification, verified 2026-08-28. Directly confirmed against the official live "Assessment" section of a brand-new specification (the page itself is titled "NEW: International GCSE Sociology (9292)" and states "For first teaching from September 2026, with first exams from May/June 2028"). Two equally weighted written papers, no coursework. specStatus is 'future' rather than 'current' because, as of this record's verification date (2026-08-28), first teaching has not yet begun -- OxfordAQA has no prior GCSE Sociology specification this succeeds, so there is no companion 'current' record for this combination until teaching starts.
