The qualification

Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in Mathematics (Specification A) (4MA1)

The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in Mathematics (Specification A) requires students to use numerical skills in a purely mathematical way and in real-life situations, use algebra to set up and solve problems, use properties of angles and understand transformations, and use a range of statistical techniques and basic ideas of probability. — Pearson Edexcel, official syllabus page

Tiered: Foundation tier (grades 5-1) and Higher tier (grades 9-4, with an allowed grade 3). Two written papers per tier, 2 hours each, 100 marks. Specification Issue 2 (November 2017).
