Source: official Pearson Edexcel specification, verified 2026-08-28. Directly confirmed against the official PDF (Specification Issue 2, November 2017): tiered qualification. Foundation tier: Paper 1F + Paper 2F, each 2h/100marks/50%, targeted at grades 5-1. Higher tier: Paper 1H + Paper 2H, each 2h/100marks/50%, targeted at grades 9-4 with grade 3 allowed. All four papers externally assessed and calculator-required (a scientific electronic calculator meeting a minimum function spec). A separate modular version also exists (per Pearson search results, first teaching 2024) and is not modeled here, since this site's record for this combination is keyed to the established Specification A code 4MA1.
