The qualification

OxfordAQA International AS and A-level English Language (9670)

The assessment of this qualification reflects the style of assessment adopted at university level, providing an ideal platform for higher education. — OxfordAQA, official syllabus page

Four units move from language and context and language and society at AS to language variation and a final language exploration unit at A2, the last offered as either an exam or a non-exam assessment (a language investigation, teacher-assessed and board-moderated). AS is separately certificated or carried forward at 20% per unit toward the full A-level, with unlimited resits. First teaching September 2017; first AS exams May/June 2018; first A-level exams May/June 2019.
