The qualification

OxfordAQA International GCSE Islamiat (9237)

Our International GCSE Islamiat course integrates scripture and contextual knowledge to provide students a cohesive understanding of Islam, its teachings and texts. — OxfordAQA, official syllabus page

Covers beliefs and teachings, practices, the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, and sources of authority in Islam, with prescribed Qur'an and Hadith passages set out in the specification. Two equally weighted written papers, no coursework. OxfordAQA's own spelling is Islamiat. First examined May/June 2026 onwards. OxfordAQA does not offer Islamiat at AS or A-level — International GCSE is the only level offered.
