The qualification

OxfordAQA International GCSE History (9245)

A truly international specification, which engages students with modern international relations, relevant and contemporary themes and perspectives, and long-term global historical developments. — OxfordAQA, official syllabus page

Paper 1 offers a choice of International Relations depth studies and origins/development studies; Paper 2 offers a choice of a societal depth study and a thematic study in either technology or medicine, with some sections using pre-released sources. OxfordAQA publishes this qualification as International GCSE History; Marlbridge groups it under World History alongside the equivalent offering from other boards. A newly launched specification: first teaching 2026, first examined May/June 2028. OxfordAQA does not offer History at AS or A-level.
