OxfordAQA International GCSE Urdu (9264)
Our International GCSE Urdu has been designed to develop your students' multilingualism alongside their communication and analytical skills. — OxfordAQA, official syllabus page
Built around three themes — identity and culture; local, national, international and global areas of interest; and current and future study and employment — assessed through a Reading, Grammar and Meaning paper (including English-to-Urdu translation) and a Writing paper, equally weighted with no coursework. OxfordAQA's official title for this qualification is simply Urdu, not Urdu Language. First teaching September 2024, first examined June 2026 onwards. OxfordAQA does not offer Urdu at AS or A-level — International GCSE is the only level offered.
Specifications change between examination series. Always confirm the current syllabus and assessment structure on the OxfordAQA syllabus page for your examination year.
