Cambridge O Level Urdu — First Language (3247) / Second Language (3248)
Marlbridge's summary of the course
Cambridge O Level Urdu is offered as two distinct syllabuses: First Language Urdu for candidates whose mother tongue is Urdu, and Second Language Urdu for candidates learning Urdu as an additional language.

First Language Urdu (3247): Paper 1 Reading and Writing (50%) and Paper 2 Texts — Unseen Passage, Poetry and Prose with prescribed set texts (50%). Second Language Urdu (3248, source: cambridgeinternational.org/Images/721465-2027-2029-syllabus.pdf, Version 1, for exams in 2027, 2028 and 2029): Paper 1 Reading and Writing (50%) and Paper 2 Grammar, Writing and Translation (50%). Candidates take one syllabus or the other, not both, in the same series. The 2024-2026 3248 syllabus (634455) is still examined in November 2026, its final series; the 2027-2029 syllabus keeps the identical two-paper split and states there are no significant changes which affect teaching. This combined record links the 3247 document; resources written for 3248 link the dedicated 3248 record instead.
