The qualification
AQA A-level English Language (7702)
AQA A-level English Language introduces students to the concepts and methods of language analysis appropriate to the description and interpretation of texts and transcripts of spoken language. — AQA, official syllabus page
For first teaching 2015, linear qualification. Paper 1 ‘Language, the Individual and Society’ and Paper 2 ‘Language Diversity and Change’, plus a non-exam-assessed ‘Language in Action’ component (investigation and original writing, 20% weighting).

Total 300 marks. First teaching September 2015, first A-level assessment June 2017.
