The qualification

Cambridge International AS & A Level Accounting (9706)

The Cambridge International AS and A Level Accounting syllabus enables learners to apply their accounting knowledge and understanding in order to analyse and present information, give reasoned explanations, and make judgements and recommendations. — Cambridge, official syllabus page

Current syllabus is Version 2, published December 2025, confirmed directly from the official syllabus PDF as valid for exams in 2026, 2027 and 2028 (June, November and March-in-India series); only change from Version 1 (September 2023) was an updated weblink reference. Cambridge International AS Level candidates study topics 1.1-2.2; A Level candidates study all topics 1.1-4.4, with AS content assumed knowledge for A Level papers. Four components: Paper 1 Multiple Choice, Paper 2 Fundamentals of Accounting (AS Level), Paper 3 Financial Accounting, Paper 4 Cost and Management Accounting (A Level).

Specifications change between examination series. Always confirm the current syllabus and assessment structure on the Cambridge syllabus page for your examination year.
