Cambridge IGCSE Sociology (0495)

Cambridge IGCSE Sociology develops learners’ understanding of human societies, and helps them recognise the influence of social structures and social change on individuals and groups. — Cambridge, official syllabus page

Version 3, for exams in 2025, 2026 and 2027. Paper 1 'Research Methods, Identity and Inequality' is compulsory and covers all 3 named topics (Research methods; Identity: self and society; Social stratification and inequality). Paper 2 'Family, Education and Crime' covers 3 further named topics (Family; Education; Crime, deviance and social control), and candidates answer questions on 2 of the 3.
