Specifications change between examination series. Always confirm the current syllabus and assessment structure on the AQA syllabus page for your examination year.

Source: official AQA specification, verified 2026-08-28. Directly confirmed against the official AQA specification-at-a-glance page: linear, not tiered, three compulsory written papers, each 2h/100marks/33⅓% (recorded as 33.34% on the third paper so the total sums to exactly 100), each drawing on all ten content sections. Paper 1 (Business 1): Section A 15 MCQs (15 marks), Section B short-answer (35 marks), Sections C/D one essay each from a choice of two (25 marks each). Paper 2 (Business 2): three compulsory data-response questions, each approx. 33 marks, each with three or four parts. Paper 3 (Business 3): one compulsory case study followed by approx. six questions. Total 300 marks. AQA's own subject page carries a live banner stating this specification is 'outgoing' -- a replacement (7138) has been accredited for first teaching September 2026, but 7132 remains the current, correct code for this site's records and continues to be examined for cohorts already partway through, through summer 2027; recorded here as current (with relatedCode 7138) because 7138's own first-teaching date, September 2026, has not yet arrived as of this record's verification date -- 7132 remains what every enrolling and continuing student actually follows today. First teaching September 2023, first A-level assessment June 2025, final A-level assessment June 2027.
7138 (upcoming — not yet current)
7138 is an upcoming specification, replacing 7132 , for first teaching from 2026-09. First assessment: 2028. It is not yet the specification current students should follow — that remains 7132 until this one begins.

Replaces 7132: for teaching from September 2026 onwards, first A-level exams June 2028. 7132 remains the current code and continues to be examined through summer 2027 for cohorts already partway through; recorded here as future with relatedCode 7132 accordingly.
